acne home remedyAfter a long search through various books and online pages, I found a rather huge list of home remedies for acne. However what is the best home remedy for acne? Or better yet, what are the best home remedies for acne, since there are too many to narrow the choice so much.

Well, I waded through literally 80 different home remedies for acne treatment and jotted down each that was mentioned multiple times. Some were mentioned practically everywhere, others were pretty unknown tips. So here are the top 13 home remedies for curing acne, which have been mentioned in every book and on every webpage I searched:

  1. Paste of honey with cinnamon powder, and apply on the skin before sleeping. Repeat this for 2 weeks
  2. Mix of 1 teaspoon lemon juice and on teaspoon cinnamon powder (not good for sensitive skin) and apply this on the skin
  3. Grind orange peel in water to make a paste. Apply on skin
  4. Tomato pulp applied on skin, keep up to 1 hour and then wash (my favourite)
  5. Apply toothpaste on the affected area. Make sure you don’t apply it on the regular skin as it will dry it out
  6. Put cucumber slices on your face - just as seen in those fancy tv shows :)
  7. Grind nutmeg with fresh milk and apply on the face for 1-2 hours
  8. Fresh garlic simply rubbed on the affected skin
  9. Fresh lime juice with a glass of boiled milk, mix and apply on the skin
  10. A  mix of lime juice and rose water, apply it on the skin
  11. Make an oatmeal mask by mixing oatmeal and water. Apply on the affected area for 20 minutes
  12. Mix 1 tablespoon groundnut oil and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  13. Aloe vera - you can buy it at your pharmacy or drug store. This one is a newcommer, a few months ago it was not on the top list, but it is now
